School Visits
Welcome to the Museum and our Victorian schoolroom and private garden.
A visit fulfills many of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum, for example:
- Pupils should have the opportunity to improvise
- Similarities and differences between ways of life between different periods
- Changes within living memory – changes in national life

All accompanying staff FREE. If staying until 2.00pm, please bring packed lunches & drinks for
everyone. These may be eaten outside if fine or inside if wet.
Sample Programme
Arrival
- Please arrange your group into two smaller groups on arrival

Group one in the classroom, group two in the museum, to swap over later
Victorian style lesson given by school mistress. Lesson begins with gentle exercises to demonstrate the
Victorian school day - Victorian toys and games available, Hoops, stilts, marbles and hopscotch
